Era Living Honors Graduates of Certified Nursing Assistant Scholarship Program

This week is Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) Week! Last year, Era Living announced a certified nursing assistant scholarship program, with complete tuition coverage, to encourage more employees to become CNAs.

Era Living would like to highlight two graduates of our scholarship program, Fasika Fuller and Andrea Garcia, who have exemplified great leadership, compassion, and service to the residents of the University House Issaquah community while participating in this program.

“The program helped me to see things from a different point of view,” said Andrea. “It has been a good learning experience and helped me to learn more about first aid, CPR. Becoming a CNA expanded my mind more. I feel more confident in emergencies. It’s amazing; everything they can teach us and how much more you can help out in the world.”

Andrea’s colleague in the program echoes her commitment to serving others.

“This experience motivated me and has inspired me to think more about what I want to do beyond the CNA program,” said Fasika. “I want to continue helping other people.”

Both Fasika and Andrea have been a part of the Era Living community for four years. They both transitioned to the scholarship program from Dining Services. The CNA scholarship program also helped Andrea gain pre-requisites for her RN certification. Fasika is now considering pursuing an LPN or RN certification.

“We are grateful to our nursing assistants who dedicate themselves to enhancing the quality of residents’ lives,” says Era Living Human Resources Director, Matt Bromen. “The CNA scholarship program allows us to add to this fantastic team and create career paths for employees from other departments.”
