Supportive Programs

With you, every step of the way

Moving from your home into a dynamic Era Living retirement community will mark the start of an exciting new chapter. We have programs designed in collaboration with the University of Washington School of Social Work to help ease the transition for residents and their family members. We also have an on-site counselor available to residents and family members every weekday.

After you have transitioned into our community, we continue to offer ongoing support through a variety of Resident & Family Supportive Programs.

Almost Like Family

Our Almost Like Family program* is designed to support residents and their families in a variety of ways. We have 24/7 on-call staff available to help in emergency situations, whether it be in the middle of a work day or in the middle of the night. They are also available to accompany residents to and from doctors’ appointments and errands, as well as provide companionship visits for additional socialization. We offer these services year round or temporarily, for those without family or for those with family who live far away or are away on trips.

Discussion and support groups

Our on-site counselor holds ongoing discussion and support groups that could include:

  • Men’s and Women’s Groups
  • Life Reflections
  • Caregiver Support
  • Chronic Illness Support
  • Widow and Widower’s Support
  • Contemporary Issues Discussions

We also have a Newcomers Group to assist our new residents in making connections and getting settled in their new community.

Counseling services

Our on-site counselor* is available for long-term and short-term counseling to assist in any concerns our residents may be having. In addition to one-on-one counseling, our counselor is also available for family mediation and couples counseling, if needed.
