University House Issaquah’s Family Fun Fest is a Summer Favorite!

University House Issaquah welcomed 300 friends and neighbors on Saturday, July 8, to Family Fun Fest, a block party designed to bring families together for an afternoon.

“We designed Family Fun Fest to be a lighthearted, good time,” said University House Issaquah’s Assistant Executive Director, Katrina Ondracek. “The event was all about bringing families together to make really happy summer memories.”

Family Fun Fest attendees enjoyed complimentary barbecue meals from Smokin’ Pete’s BBQ and Red Hook Ale for those over age 21. Games, ice cream, and cotton candy generated plenty of excitement from the under 12 crowd. Many folks simply basked in the summer breeze while listening to the Powell Mountain Bluegrass Band perform.

University House has been abuzz since Family Fun Fest. Residents and staff alike are bonding over favorite memories that include watching children romp through the Wild West obstacle course, giggling while dunk tank volunteers got soaked, and reveling in the joy from a carefree summer afternoon.
