Coronavirus Update: What Era Living is Doing to Protect our Residents

Era Living News, Senior Health & Wellness

The recent spread of the coronavirus around the world is of significant public concern, and we have been closely monitoring the situation and the guidance issued by the CDC and Washington Department of Health.  The safety and health of our residents and staff is our top priority, and of particular concern is the vulnerability of our resident population.

Here is a summary of actions taken to date:

  • We are actively communicating with staff and residents regarding precautions they should take to protect themselves and the community.
  • We continue to be diligent in maintaining a clean environment to help reduce the spread of germs.
  • We continue to follow our existing policies and procedures related to preventing the spread of communicable disease among residents and staff.
  • We are committed to protecting our residents and staff by following any direction issued by the Department of Health.

On February 25, top health officials at the CDC warned that it is not a question of if, but exactly when the coronavirus spreads in clusters within the US and how many people in this country will have severe illness. Based on this and other news regarding the spread of the virus, we are currently working on developing and rolling out additional practices in our communities that will help further reduce the risk of contagion, identify individuals who may have been exposed to the disease, and minimize risk of contagion among residents, staff, family members, and other visitors.
