Independent Living
Era Living operates eight retirement communities in Seattle, Renton, Mercer Island, Bellevue, and Issaquah. Each community has its own personality and features that make it unique. No matter which of our communities you visit, one thing you will notice right away is that it will not feel like a “facility”. We value arts, culture, and beauty, and each of our properties is a place you can be proud to call your home. You’ll find a number of common qualities across any senior living community in the Era Living family, all of which are designed to help older adults maintain independence and thrive.
Our Approach to Healthy, Independent Aging
Extensive, Enriching Activity Calendars
Our life enrichment calendars are brimming with activities to nourish your mind, body, and spirit. Attend a lecture, discuss current events, take an art class, or enjoy an on-site concert. Choose from a variety of exercise classes for all abilities, including Enhance®Fitness, tai chi, yoga, or Stretch & Flex. Play bridge or poker, take up creative writing, or engage in a local volunteer opportunity. Partake in our regular outings to museums, symphonies, operas, sporting events, parks, and shopping destinations. If you have an interest that you don’t see on the calendar, each community also welcomes ideas and feedback from residents.
Connection to the Arts and Beautiful Outdoor Space
At each Era Living community, you will find a signature piece of Chihuly glass on display in one of the elegant common areas. The common areas also feature rotating original, professionally curated art. In normal times, we host social events to celebrate each new art show with live music, food, and wine. This brings together residents, nearby neighbors, and the artists themselves to connect over art.
Many of our residents are artists, and you can sometimes find their art on display in our communities. We also offer art classes for those looking to hone their skills or pick up painting or drawing for the first time.
No matter what time of year you visit, you will notice the vibrant, well-kept landscaping throughout each Era Living retirement property. We have walking paths and plenty of outdoor seating onsite. Our gardens and patios are beautiful, full of color year-round, and perfect places for relaxing, exercising, or socializing.
In-house Chefs and Elegant Dining Rooms
Each of our communities has its own in-house chef who designs delicious menus to please our residents’ palettes and meet varying dietary needs. We always have healthy options designated on our menus, making it easy to live a healthier lifestyle. The elegant dining rooms are social hubs, where you can choose to be seated with a new group, sit with your friends, or eat on your own. You’ll also discover a private dining space reserved exclusively for you, your family, and your dearest friends, allowing you to celebrate life’s special occasions. Each community has its own meal plan included in the monthly rent.
Pet-Friendly
Feel free to bring your furry friends along! We have a love for pets and embrace them in all our retirement communities. Simply introduce us to your pet, and please note that there is a one-time pet fee.
Collaboration with University of Washington
Era Living retirement communities partner and collaborate with UW School of Nursing, UW School of Social Work, and UW School of Pharmacy to bring education, support, and evidence-informed programming to our residents.

Assisted Living
Our levels of care are designed to meet your changing needs. Assisted living services are offered on an à la carte basis at each Era Living retirement community. Our in-home assisted living services provide the peace of mind that you can get help with activities of daily living when you need it– in your original apartment home. And because of our unique partnership with the University of Washington School of Nursing, residents benefit from innovative wellness and active aging programs.
Enjoy the convenience of our on-site Wellness Center where you have access to consultations with licensed nurses and caregivers on a variety of topics, such as your medication regimen, dietary needs, vital signs, and education about assisted living services. The Wellness Center also coordinates visiting healthcare providers so that you may have easy access to a podiatrist, audiologist, massage therapist, and others. As your care needs change, our team will work with you to develop a holistic, individualized care and wellness plan. Our RN-licensed Community Health Director and supporting team will provide professional and compassionate assisted living services in the privacy and comfort of your apartment home.
